This library is upheld by the Institute for Theology and Peace (ithf) is one of the world’s leading scientific specialized libraries for questions concerning theological peace ethics. The library’s contextual focus (also integrating literature from the library of Hamburg’s Archdiocese) lies in the fields of theology, peace research, ethics, religious studies, philosophy, political science, international law, historical science and sociology.
The collection includes ca. 53,500 volumes as well as 159 current national and international magazines. A specialty is the contextual analysis of topic-relevant articles printed in selected magazines and collections. In whole, 192,500 titles covering monographs, magazines and collections are available and can be researched in the Theology & Peace Catalog
Due to reconstruction, the library will be closed from the 17th of December 2012. We expect that the modifications will be completed at the end of March 2013.
